So you want to make a fibreglass kit car of a datsun variety and then put it on a custom chassis so you can fit any engine in it?
you would still have trouble fitting the RB series of morot fit without the rear of the block hitting your knee in the cabin..... you may be better off building a tough 1200 coupe with a SR FJ or CA motor than an RB, they are big straight sivxes with alot of weight, would only be good for straight line speed, like at the drags.....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't (not sure if it's still current) the record ET for a registered car held by a datto ute with a 302ci ford motor & 9 inch diff?
Low 8's

Was almost going to post a thread almost exactly the same last nite. A little different though. The question is could we make up our own cahssis suspension and all that like the hotrodders. Pretty much a datto body with all the running gear of a hotrod. Registered as a hotrod you could get away with murder in terms of having to meet regualtions.
This could be an idea for yo Dodgeman. Your little 1000coupe sitting on a full chassis with a hemi under the hood, and street legal. Id love that.v8 power.
