#1 Best way to get the rear end of my ute closer to the ground?
mikecz Posted on: 2005/8/7 13:39
Hey all,
I want to get my ute looking pretty low when i get my new rims (They will be 16") It's lowered a bit now (Just the leafs adjusted) But i want to get it lower.
I've heard the best way is to flatten the leafs and fit lowering blocks?
How should i go about getting my ute alot lower?
Thanks in advance, Mike.

Heat up the springs with a blowtorch and get your 3 fattest mates to jump on the back.

What the?..... What sort of advice is that? What you are saying basically amounts to sending him out to buy a new set of springs, as his will be stuffed within 6 months if he does what you suggest.

he was joking, obviously because of the smily face at the end.besides, heating the springs only works on coils,so use this on the front.

get your springs reset (FLAT) then use 1'' lowering blocks or 2'' if u want the low rider look

Well you could do the same as what I did. Take the long overrider and turn it upside down and fit it on top, also flip the second spring. Will stiffen the rear end nicely about 20mm from original bump stops.

Will look about this high, thats running 15" rims and 185/55 x 15 on the rear

i used a combination of reset springs (2") and 1.5" lowering blocks to achieve this look...

wanted to do it without blocks.. but it wasnt low enough after resetting springs..

dattodevils method may be worth a shot..
