at idle mine is usually 30psi but in the warmer weather drops to a bout 25psi (i dont like it at 25 as the idle gets a bit rough). At crusie it is about 60-65 and at hi revs is about 70-80psi (same as when cold).
this is of my mechanical guage so who really knows..... i just hope its accurate.

Are big oil filters bad? The one I use is big compared to what I've seen on most A series but I'm getting the same oil pressures... I thought bigger would be better but never really looked into it or gave it much thought.

Is the oil pressure port before or after the filter? I've never noticed much of a change when changing filter sizes. I usually use a Fram ph8a (ford) or the longer 977a.
My oil presure is 58-59psi at 4k

I use Z386. They are toyota 4 cylinder. The genuine toyota oil filters have better paper in them & is folded in a way that they have more paper. They have a better 1 way valve also. I put one un a claged 3y 4 cylinder i had in my hilux & the oil light went off almost straight away. They are a better filter than any ryco or genuine nissan. I have seen proof at the toyota training centre.

so the z386 is a direct screw on replacement on the a12, a14 and a15 style a series s it?
might have to try this one...

I do find the toyota filers pretty good on my corolla, hacksawed the first one in 1/2 after running the car in to check for metal flakes..... they do have a lot of folds in them...
