#1 SA Nissan 1400 Bakkie

I'm interested to know how many people would be interested in importing a 1400 from south africa. If a few of us got together and imported them at the same time it would cut shipping costs.

brand new they are around $14k i think and they dont comply with the emissions over here. but if you got one before the year b4 they stoped importing them here i recon that there would be a better chance???

Surely its not worth it? (Or maybe it is... and stop calling me Shirley!)

I have a friend who just imported his WRX from Japan and it cost him about 5G to get it from one side of the gate at the port over here to the other side of the gate in Australia. So if you add on incidentals, you'd be looking at a 20G 1400 Bakkie, where as you could do some searching and grab a very nice ute in Australia for less than that. Or build your own if you're not so impatient.

Or move to SA and play over there for a bit.

The world is nothing but options for you to tick on your new vehicle order form.

Now that i've thought about it a bit more, it's not really worth it. I am interested in getting a 5 speed from one though. Does anyone have any info on them? Is it just a case of also ordering a bellhousing, cross member and drive shaft along with it or have they changed the blocks of the engines?
