#1 LAGWAGON's CA18DET and conversion Gear
LAGWAGON Posted on: 2006/2/22 6:55
Hello all, up for sale is most of the bits that are required to get a CA18 into a 1200.

The motor...
The motor was rebuilt and every gasket was replaced. all assembly and machining was done by headtech cylinder heads who knows their CA's inside out.
Crank was ground to accept oversized king race bearings
block was hot tanked then honed and decked
pistons were fitted with molly rings.
The head got a freshen up with a surface grind and was then tanked. the valve stem seals were replaced and valves all checked to be sealing correctly. all chambers were deburred.
i removed all the pointless crap you don't need from the inlet manifold so there are minimal vaccum lines and water lines running around making any maintainence easier and looks heaps better, manifold was thoroughly cleaned.
all the gaskets, seals, welch plugs, head studs, cam belt were replaced so it was a new motor again.

motor was run in meticulously (2500kms) and has been treated properly. with the necessary oil and filter changes carried out.

motor has about 8000km's (max) on it now.

motor is currently fitted with an S15 ballbearing turbo that i bought for $1000 as it had very low kms'. good for 200rwkw!
it also currently has GTR 444cc injectors and is chipped and mapped for a Z32 air flow meter. i have the computer, ignighter and standard airflow meter also and could change the above mentioned items back to standard. all i don't have is the loom, which would set you back $100 max.

i also have a massive high flow cooler that fits perfectly behind the grille, and all the associated silicon bends and alloy piping. the piping and bends were quite expensive!

i have a CA turbo radiator and two thermo fans that keep it all cool, with all the hoses needed to make it all fit.

i have a custom made engine crossmember that utilises R33 skyline rubber mounts.

basically all you need. all i can think that you would need is a loom and a clutch (already sold). this package will put a smile on your dial every time, and its not an ordinary CA in 1200 package, the extra mods will take you into the 11's no worries. priceless :) i drove it around for about eight months.

there are a few pics in my file. any questions please ask. at the moment looking to get rid of the lot. also have some clutch and brake gear...

$4000

cheers fellas

hey lagwagon.... I'm sure your wagon was in a zoom issue end of last year... I have it if you didn't spot it. In one of the drag sections next to a ute with numberplate "jetute"

mildman, yeah i know the band LAGWAGON. american punk. they're not bad...

Dazza, yeah that was my car in zoom. it was at the nissan datsun drag day at heathcote. only race i lost all day was in my final where my CAS plug fell off and the engine died off the start line. accounted for JET UTE fairly comfatably too (the car in picture)

any questions please ask... this will save you lots of money and piles of time!
