Matts 120Y...1270cc motor used to run 11.2:1 but would run on a bit so i lowered it to 10.5:1 and its ok and still runs well, has a 32/36 weber on it.GREG

From my ricer days I understood 12:1 was the limit on high octane pump fuel.

That meant about 14psi boost on a static 8.5:1 engine.

From my own exp. 11:1 would be as high as I would go on pump fuel, & in some cases that would be pushing it , depending on how much timming your running & such.

11:1 is probably fair with many engines I would say.

The 12:1 was in an RB20DET motor in a friends race car. He had a non turbo engine and boosted it with an enormous turbo, getting to around that 12:1 mark.

He blew it up twice....so maybe 12:1 is a little far...
