Hi guys,
just bought an A15 conversion and my chassis on my 1200 ute, just below my engine are rusty, does any one know the best thing to do? Should i cut out the rust or will this make it too unstable, or should i go to the wreckers and try for a new plate thingy.

If you cut out rusted material, it is the usual thing to properly replace it with new metal, which won't make it unstable, but quite the opposite, it will restore the lost strength. Particularly if it is the chassis.

This new 'plate thingy', what is it really? Are you talking about the crossmember?

engine crossmember?
then just buy a good 2nd hand unit saves you cutting, welding and painting
might end up cheaper if you dont have all the right tools
