#1 MSD for an A15
prospec Posted on: 2006/7/6 15:23
Hey all i have a a15 as the topic surgests and i was thinking about puting msd on it...i know most of you will say its a waste and the ignition that i have now is enough to do the job...I was searching a while back and i seen some one on here trying to sell his msd setup with dizzy ignition module and coil...i was wondering if any of you had a part number for the dizzy it self...i went onto MSD webs site and looking at the catalouge they only make them for v8 or a VW...which brings me to ask if the VW dizzy fits onto the A series motors. or evevn can i use the bluebird dizzy i have now and wire the msd ignition module up to it...

I hope some one might be able to help Thanks in advance...

I haven't used that box, but i know many others who have, it works fine, it's a little much for a stock engine, but it won't hurt and you'll have all the ignition you'll ever need.

you don't need a different dizzy, but a upgraded coil helps.

i have the accel300+ CDI and it works great, but the controller in the glove box ticks pretty loudly, but on the road you can't hear it.

Just use a datsun B-310 electronic dizzy,or convert the bluebird (610) or violet (710) dizzy to work with the msd box. Those dizzy's have a two wire magnetic hall effect switch that the msd box can read. Good luck, Larry

those boxes will also take the coil -trigger if you already have a more modern electronic dizzy.

but either way 2 wire or 1 wire they work great.
