A12 1200cc in good condition. Just came out of my 1000.

Engine comes with hitachi carb and dizzy.

Not sure of the value. Make me an offer.

I had a look at it last night after we fitted the new diff to ddienes 1000 coupe, it's an A12a motor out of a 120y in really good condition just missing the oil, fuel and water pumps. Pity i 've got so many A12a's otherwis i would have grabbed it!

You have a 'quantity' of genuine 1237cc A12A engines???
These were used in US models of the B310 from about 1980 & had a 75mm bore size.
Where did you get these?

Sorry dodgeman got my suffix mixed up i meant to say i've got a trio of A12(a) motors which denotes the later A12 block as fitted to the B210/B310 models with the dizzy in the middle of the offside of the block and not at the front as iin the A12 block fitted to the B110 models. Basically nissan used the (a) suffix to show a modification as in the 1968 update of the B10 sedan becoming a B10(a) with the larger rear taillights and three bar grill.

Good point. I simply use the term '1200' to denote the earlier engines from Datsun 1200 cars, & the A12 to denote the later [A12(a)] engines. Both systems would work, but only one of them should be universally adopted to avoid confusion between the earlier & later 1171cc [A12] engines.

Interestingly, both Ferals & my short stroke A13 engines use an 'A' as a suffix in the engine number, probably to separate these engines from the earlier long stroke A13's. This suffix is different from the A12A xxxxxx format as it is a suffix to the actual number itself,
ie, A13 xxxxxxA
Verrrrrrrry interesting.

Not sure how many kms on it, but was running very well before I took it out a few days ago.

I think $100 is fair.
