I know it doesn't answer your question directly but I am going for 120Y struts on my sunny as Kev Rowly makes an adaptor plate to fit SR20 Silvia disks and calipers to the 120Y strut (I am doing an SR20DET conversion).
I am assuming that you have an a series motor so the 120Y disks would be fine but I thought I would let you know about the silvia thing because if you ever wanted to go for a CA or SR conversion, upgrading your brakes would not be a problem.

for stanza struts, you will need stanza control arms and such, which will end up increasing the track width a bit
in standard form stanza brakes are alot better than 120y ones, but depends if you are going to upgrade to bigger brakes you can use landcruiser 4 piston calipers on stanza struts, then just need to find some discs to suit main advantage of 120y struts is that they will bolt straight in and you keep the same track width, if it was me using 120y struts the brake upgrade would be the first thing on my mind im using stanza struts, well was, now using 200b struts pretty much the same but shorter (need to change spring perch also) and will soon be running the landcruiser 4 spots, but ive changed brakes 3 times without driving the car, i just want big brakes hope that helps

Im going with a A15... i reckon the 120Y brakes be fine.. get a new disk and new pads.. she be prefected for it..
what should i get of the 120Y car then... struts brakes caliper!!!! should i just undo the four blots on top and then undo the control arm and steering arm.. so then it just bolts straight in when i get home.. cheers

try to find a late model 120y with girlock calipers, better than the early model ones
from the 120y you only really need to unbolt the strut and i think thats about all you need (with brakes still attatched obviously) then get some new flexable brake lines made up need to change your mastercylinder from drum drum to dics drum, or just take the 120y master also need to change rear wheel cylinders to 120y ones think thats about all unbolt the three bolts on top and the 2 under the steering arm, then you need to change the 120y strut top for the 1200 one as the 120y one will raise the car then bolt them into the ute

120y rear wheel cylinders are smaller, and help to stop the rear locking up when you have discs up front
dont really know what year model they are, but i think its like 76 or something maybe later someone else on here should be able to tell you
