You will find that the L20B will fit much easier than the L20, which is a six cylinder engine.

the L20B is nothing more than the normal 4cyl L20 found in 200B and Bluebird. Dodgemean is just being pedantic, as he likes to do with any diff topic that comes up. The 6cyl L20A, to be perfectly accurate, was never released here, so its perfectly normal for people to just refer to the 4cyl L20B as a plain old L20. In fact if you walk into a Nissan parts department and ask for an L20 piston, I guarantee you will get a 4cyl L20B piston, not an 6cyl L20A piston.

need to work out a gearbox crossmember, although i think later model 120ys have mounting points further back for the L series

all you need to do for the clutch is get the master out of a 200b, the template for the clutch is already on the inside of the firewall, but will need to move the brake line splitter

so basically i wont find a 6 cylinder L20 very easy, and if i do it wont be cheap in AUS. 6 cylinder would be good but that would be pretty heavy wouldnt it?

the two unused crossmember bolt holes?? (the ones at the front??) they are used for the 180B Cross member

200B (710) and Bluebird (910) are identical apart from the fact that the bluebird has rack and pinion... but they don't bolt straight in....

the only difference between auto and manual 120Y shells isthe gearbox mounts...

that being said there is TWO different B210 120Y floorpans...early and late: the seats don't intechange between the two...

At the risk of being critiqued again for setting the record straight, the Datsun 200B is the 810. The 710 was not marketed in Australia & it looked quite similar to the 180B [610]

I had always believed that the L20 [six] was used in the 'Datsun Personal Six' of the mid/late 60's. I once worked with a bloke that owned one. This engine wasn't known as the L20A untill after the L20B came into being, & even then, I'm not sure that this is a factory designation, but more a replacement parts industry one.

The problem with an L-six in the 120Y is not so much weight, but length. The L-four is a better choice all round.

Stick with the conversion. From all acounts, this is becoming more popular in 1200's & those that have them on the road simply love it, so I'm sure you will too.
