A Series powered boat (blew my outboard up!!!)

Hey guys I was wondering what I would need to do to convert my 16.5 foot fibreglass boat from an outboard configuration (now deceased due to a cracked block) to an inboard with A series power!!.
Would I need an auto gearbox (as I need reverse) what prop would I need? Would I use a jet assembly??? Any ideas appreciated. I want to use an A15 with twin webers

if you want to see how most car motors are converted into boats ahve a look at jetboats and mud boats hope that helps

A bloke i knew up in Townsville had a A15 in a small boat it went good!... i tihnk he had a propellar coming from the crank or sumthing i cant remember.. Twin 40s on one would be awsome!

dont webers have to be level or close to level to work properly, in a boat that banks in turns this might be an issue? I dunno just thought I'd mention it.
I hope you get it to work it would be great to see (and hear)

ive seen webers in a near vertical position on V8 manifolds...what did they do in boats before injection??

The webers vertical on V8s and Rota's are IDA webers purpose built for that type of need. Wouldnt DOCE webers upside down have the fuel run out of the bowl and alsohave problems with the needle staying seated?

Your right there tyrie, its due to the webers needle and seat opening when levels change and then letting in fuel it doesnt need. I have a write-up at home about it, i can scan it for anyone interested. You basically have to modify the carbs to have a fuel return, Info about that in the write-up as well.

I would love an 12-15 foot a series powered boat!!! I have seen one at Port Macquary once.
Not sure what you would use for a gear box? I may need a reduction gear box ? Maybe the local marine shop may be able to help with how the shaft goes through the hull ie. what bearing assebly to use. Good luck with it all carnt wait to see it done.

my m8s dad races jetboats and he runs shaft that poweres the jet straight from the flexplate
