US 5 Speed boxes suit A Series

Calling all Yanks!! Are 5 speed A series boxes hard to to find Stateside as they are in Ozztrailia?? Cheers Steve

They are here and available but too exxcy to get back to Aus compared with the cost of doing a Toyota conversion.

The US is a left drive country & the gearboxes for left drive models use a hydraulic clutch.
If you were successfull in securing a 60 series gearbox, then there is a chance that you could fit it all into an Aussie 60 series 4 speed gearbox case, which will restore the cable slutch operation & save a lot of grief. If you score a 63 series box, then you will need to do a hydraulic clutch conversion to the car.

They are here, available, plenty, and cheap.
But I hear it costs about $400 USD to ship to Auz. the 60-series 5-speed weighs 70 pounds.
