#1 Can we seperate the US/Aust forums?
Blats Posted on: 2007/6/7 5:28
I know its fun to browse ALL the listings, but if the us/aust forums were separate the listings would be more useful - to me at least.

Nope.

Even if a majority of us agreed, it probably still wouldn't happen I'm afraid... sorry.

We's one big happy family - let's keep the info in one place.

Besides, where do all the other countries fit? Which one do they post in?

We have members from Portugal, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Amsterdam, Thailiand, Malaysia, South Africa, New Zealand, Japan, and many other countries I can't think of right now.

What I would suggest is dividing up the forum like the Techinical Section ie - Engine, Drivetrain, Brakes, Interior, etc...

That would reduce clutter and make things easier to find.

I say leave it the way it is. I enjoy reading what other people around the world are doing with their Datsuns. I can even hear their accent by the way they type.

if nothing else, it forces us to interact when we otherwise would ignore people who don't speak our own language but who do speak the international language of datsun

This thread is in the classified forum, so I wonder if Blats is actually refering to only the clasifieds & not the rest of the whole forum.

If Blats is refering only to the classifieds, I would still say no to separation, but yes to the mandatory placement of basic location details in the profiles so that everyone knows where people who are selling/buying are located.

There are some parts that I recently bought from a US member that I might never have known about if we were separated.

besides, the usa members are few and far between

the last thing i'd want to happen is see this forum turn into another ozdat or datnet

Yes! Make locations in subject lines mandatory, pleeaase.

I might actually look at these classifieds more if I didn't have to click on each ad just to see where the seller is located. It's a huge waste of time for the Americans and residents of other minority countries on this board.

We need to do that, at least. I would also be in favor of separating the classifieds up by region, which is what he was referring to.

I say again LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE.
If you separate we would still be looking in Aussy, and else where because that`s where all the good parts are
