it's the terrorist alert sender unit. They are supposed to be wired up to a mobile phone to alert the authorities but nobody uses them anymore. you can ignore it. Just don't go too close to it with a turban or burka.
Seriously though I think it was part of the A/C system in the S13. I am running a standard computer and loom and have no such sensor in mine.

The dropping resistor is larger than that.

Its definitly the dropping resister
Daveman you are maybe thinking of the Power Transister unit. I'm lead to believe the Dropping resister reduces the voltage to the injectors as the injectors are directly connected to the 12V power supply. The Dropping resister should read 6 Ohms across each of the 4 outputs according to the manual. Hope that helps.

Mate i'm not thinking of the power transistor. The body of the dropping resistor is 85x30mm and should have 5 wires running into it. If the part in question matches this description then that's what you have. Otherwise you don't need it.

It NOT the dropping resistor. Daveman is right.
It is part of the test harness used by mechanics with no skills.. Cut it from the loom and throw it to the ####house.

Ok time to eat a bit of humble pie for me, I don't like to give out bad info and should have looked closer before typing.
Dattodude and Daveman are partially correct it is not the injector dropping resister. So, what is it you ask? What you have there is an A/T harness. It is a dropping resister for the A/T Shift solenoid B and Line pressure Solenoid. If you are running a manual transmission than, as Dattodude said, you don't need it. You can view topic.
