#1 sss automotive engine conversions

Hey guys,

Has anyone had dealings with sss automotive in girraween before.

Just wondering if they fit engines as well as supply them.

I'm changing my a12 in my ute to a worked a14. I know everyone says its a peice of p*ss to do but me having never ever done something like this before so i was thinking about maybe getting some pro's to do the hard work for me.

I can ask a family friend to help me out but he probably won't be available to help me for a couple of months.

So yeah without having to call them and all that does anyone know if i took my ute down there with the old engine in it and the new complete engine if they would do the conversion for me and if so, what sort of cost do you think it would be?

Alternatively does anyone else know of any good mechanics who would do it somewhere in western sydney?

Thanks
Trav

Don't worry guys i'm a dope!!!!

Didn't realise they only supply engines and parts, not actually fit them.

I feel like an idiot!!! And am!!!

They said they recommend a place called hi-tech performance but they said it would be a full on engineers job and would probably cost a fair whack. I guess there would be a fair amount of these type places around but i really don't want to spend heaps of dough.

Looks like i will be waiting for my mate to help me out.

Unless anyone esle has a suggestion on where i can take it to get it done without paying the earth???

Cheers

find a mechanic that has an engine crane, shouldnt cost more than say $200 to get it done as its not exactly a hard job.....probably take a couple of hours if they were being slack and going slow

Found a guy just up the road in pendle hill.

He's another datsun tragic and has done the job a heap of times.

3-4 hours labour and will change all oil, coolant, filters etc for $350.

Done and dusted!!!

Cheers

Yeah the guy i was talking about called me back this morning and said it would take a couple of days and he wanted to charge 800 bucks!!!

I told him his a fool and that i found a guy who could do it in 3-4 hours, service the thing and all for only 350 smackers!!

He did the usual thing and started saying "oh be careful mate there are some cowboys out there who promise the world but don't understand the work involved etc etc etc"

MUPPET!!!

you could always buy an engine crane for that a ount and the filters and oil and do it yourself... then you have the crane for when you want to go to L or late model engine conversions.
