What are people thinking when they advertise things for sale on ebay with the title no reserve . Then you read further only to find that there is a reserve.
Am I the only one that thinks that something is wrong here.? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Toyota-Corolla ... ZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

minimum bid, and reserve are two different things.
For example, what maniac would put their house up for auction with no reserve? Only in the hottest of markets would you put the price you are happy with, and let the punters decide the final price. Besides, what are you doing looking at SECAs, they were always pitched at the two husband family, no kids...not that there's anything wrong with that...

What about items dissapearing?
I bid on a pair of Longchamp wheels last night, got into work today and the item is missing and also the item is no longer in my bid history, I guess the item was ended due to someone offereing more than I bid but its bloody annoying.

yes, im with white sedan here, and then sales where you have been out bid by $1, and the items up for sale again due to non paying buyer 2 weeks later at a price much higher than your non winning bid. eg lost an auction $50 to $51, item relised at starting price $75.

I'm beginning to think ebay management have dropped the ball of late anyway. It's near on impossible to speak to them directly, and even if you could they take sides with thier big sellers.I am in conflict with a seller at present, who i intend naming on Friday if my conditions are not met by then.
You just keep going around in circles, yet they can sell dodgy goods and ebay let them get away with it. Roll on Friday

Ebay is a mechanism. I believe it's a great mechanism.
When did you ever ring up trading post newspaper because some guy sold you a dodgy product? Answer=never. Buying stuff remotely has it's risks. If you don't want the risks, pay more and buy locally. More and more people are getting burned, and Chinese made crap is all that is available.. On a side note: My dad almost got more for his 30 year old rusty trailer than what he paid for a brand new one. It turns out the people only wanted to use the trailer for advertising, and they wanted it to be broken down, so long as it could be registered, so it could be legally left on the side of the road for people to see the advertising. Amazing but true.

I still intend to name this major ebay store if applicable, because if i can save one person getting screwed by false advertising then i will be happy.
The other con with ebay is if you leave negative feedback you automatically have negative feedback left by the seller of the falsely advertised goods making you look like the bad guy. As for trading post,at least you know where the person lives and you can either pay a visit or start legal proceedings,i could go on and on but won't,Friday will come soon enough
