the sr20 would fit you will need a bigger gear box tunnel :)

putting a bigger gearbox tunnel is ezy but if you think it is hard i would recomend staying with the motor you have

much heavier and bigger than ca18de.

better suited to 1200.

you should measure the height of a sr20 first before you just say you will need a bigger tunnel thats it!!!

The sr is 720mm tall, it will fit in a 1000 if you want the plenum and the whole rocker cover through the bonnet!!!

So tell me more champ, will it fit with an electric supercharger? What front suspenion will you use?
I have measured my SR20 and my 1000 engine bay. I even sat my SR20 into the engine bay. It will need a custom crossmember, a modified steering drag link and different spring arrangement and even then it will stll have a bump in the bonnet to clear the front of the plenum and the cam cover.

Ignore that 'phunk' comment perthute.
It seems any young bloke without the benefit of experience is constantly going to be under fire. In this incident it is shrouded in sarcasm. I'm sure your measurements were recorded under your own basis of knowledge. I think what phunk means to say is that you haven't taken into account particular technical issues that would need specific attention.

Just agree and pay your respects to the aforementioned god of knowledge and king of sarcasm.

I would just like to add;
Ignore that 'perthute' comment Datz_Ezza.
Its obvious he measured it to fit in a 4wd 1000. If it fits under the bonnet cleanly of a normal 1000, you will need to attach a trench digger to the front bumper so there is ground clearance for the gearbox bellhousing as you drive.

Just be humble and say thanks but no thanks for the advice.
