am i the only one that thinks that grill is the ugliest thing in history or what.
ok, maybe not quite as ugly as a commodore but lets not go there.....

yeh i dont like em... You can fit a L in there without the extra nose cone anyways.
You recon its as ugly as my new cruiser tho Rich?

Well I don't mind the looks at all. I think I could live with it, although I would agree that the frontal styling & the general body styling makes for a mixed metaphor.
These cars are completely different from the firewall forward, ... including the firewall & trans tunnel which is optimised for the larger trans. They are definitely 40mm longer in the wheelbase as well as being longer from the radiator forward. Even the cowl panel is different. Nothing in the steering or suspension carries the same part number as a 1200 either & yes, I have spent several hours comparing my two parts books. [B110 & PB110] A GX coupe version with everything fitted to an L18 engine plus a later 63 series 5 speed would be a really nice car to be cruising in. These use an H165 differential, so I suspect that the whole rear end is based on the same one as the Utility uses [or vice versa] Judging from the steering wheel, this one's a GL. ![]()

I had never heard or read of these models, interesting. The windscreen is particularly interesting.
The 1000 models tend to look very tall because of the expanse of glass and looking at the first picture in the thread you can really see the remnants of the 1000 design. Maybe it's the trim and photography that make the windscreen look bigger.... Is there more trim round the windscreen than a 1200 or am I seeing things? Nice find Chris!

yep she is a gl version.
The grill isnt the greatest thing on the planet but i rekon i could live with it for pure rarity. I wouldnt mind getting my hands on a wasted one, taking the x-member and all its drie train and swapping it into a good normal 1200. Could even steal all the interior and brakes/suspension. That bonnet by itself is super sexy, pity it wouldnt fit on a normal 1200 due to length Cool retro stylish bastard i rekon
