S13drifter, I hope you don't mind me using your car but...... I changed it's colour and put a little pinstriping on it. Nice and dark.
What do people think of dark colours? They show imperfections, show dust, show wipe scratches etc is it worth painting such a dark colour? It was supposed to be a dark metallic grey. But it kinda looks black toward the rear of the car.

Dark colours can make cars look small, and considering the size of the 1k, i think it looks too small.
A lighter colour in my opinon is a better choice, for al the reasons that you allready listed. In saying that, the colour is great.
