#1 J series motors
Pendles Posted on: 2008/1/30 0:29
Has anyone had any experiance switching from J series to A series motors in the older bluebird 1200's. I've a lot of old A15's and 14 kickin around with alot of gear for em and I'm not sure if it's worth the effort.

Let's see:
* Better fuel economy
* More powerful
* lighter
I'd say it is worth it to go from J12 to A15. Plus you could add a 5-speed.

well i'm running a J15 already, and it's pretty smooth, lots of grunt, not alot of revs though. Dont know about the 5 speed, it's a column 4 speed and dont want to modify the shift linkages or steering column, the car is 99% original apart from the bigger motor,
more interested in whether the J series bellhousing and spline meets an A series motor. I know i'll have to modify the mount points, thats not a biggy.
