FWD engine swap sugestions...

Guys...i got a 1981 datsun cherry...the engine arangment is similar to all the other cherry's/100A or whatever they call them...mine is called datsun 310gx...it has a A15 fwd...
The engine is supported via crossmember just like a rwd engine...it bolts up to the sides of the engine block...exactly in the same place where a rwd engine crossmember would bolt up...i can compare them to my 120Y...the block is exactly the same...i guess nissan engineers just reinvented the same engine for fwd use... Anyway my question is...besides going A15, what other swaps have people done in fwd Datsuns...it would be great if there where other engines that bolt up via a crossmember...not like the new nissan engines which bolt to the side of the engine bay...any sugestions? i wouldn't mind keeping the A15 and working on it...but i have a 4 Speed...and in portugal getting a 5 speed fwd should be impossible...swapping internals of the box could be an option but i have no idea with what other box i could exchange... Waiting for sugestions...peaceeeeeeeeee....

A GA16 would be about the same size overall, those got the b13 sunnys going pretty fast.

Maybe an E16. E-series were a new engine based on the A14 design, and used in the 1983 B11.
Unfortunately there are no Cherry experts here.

the Australian N10 Pulsars first came to Australia with the "A" series engines and then the 'E" series engines.
So that would be one of the easiest conversions if you can find the parts.

That's what he has: N10. A 1981 Datsun 310 is an N10. front-wheel-drive.

You should be able to use N12 engines & gearboxes, which was the e15/16, plus a 5 speed box. The N13 came with a CA16 in Japan, maybe the same in Europe, though wasn't it about that time they sold the Nissan/Alfa combination that Ratdat has. Flat 4 Alfasud engine in a Pulsar body.Hmmm.
