Hi everyone.
Just want to know what type of waterpump and fan setup people are running on their A15 motor's. Any pics would also help. Cheers. Currently mine has a clutch type fan.

has anyone seen or used the new electric water pump systems yet.I have seen some info through work and apparently they are the in thing..no belts..more horsepower and no overrun on the fan..

With my A15, I ran the standard 4-blade plastic A15 fan. I never had any overheating problems.
But it does need a radiator a bit larger than the stock 1200 radiator. I used one from a B210, it bolted right in. Most A15s came in cars with A/C and so had the fluid clutch Fan. But other A15s used the same fan as A14. Details and pics here: <-- wiki, search for fan

#1 thing keeping me from using an electric waterpump is the hour ratings on them. I guess I could, I have a logbook for the road car, its just really expensive for the number of hours the things are expected to last.
Electric fans are sketchy enough when the get in a mood and decide not to run.

Definitely the most reliable setup is the mechanical (standard) fan. There will be no overheating if you use it -- at least none caused by the fan.
Electric setups are fine if done correctly. Stock fans are always OK. Quote: I guess I could, I have a logbook for the road car

those had hour meters... how weird, I don't think any other car had one of those. maybe really old cars.
my electric fan works fine, it's that once in a few years usually after someone else worked on the car that mysterious things happen. The logbook helps me remeber when i changed the oil and i can go back and calculate all sort of fun things about the mpg and how much it cost. too much spreadsheeting!

I plan to use an electric pump with a thermo fan on my Daisy. The davis carig units are good enough for constant loading, and you can even get a pump timer. Like a turbo timer it keeps the pump running after the engine is off to contine to cool the engine. The 'pump timer' is mainly for drag cars etc, but you can use them or road cars.

I noticed two water pumps listed i went for the constant drive 4 blade not the silicon hub, but make sure the fan hub is in good condition if you buy a new water pump to suit it and then find out , it needs replacing, can you (a) service it , (b) get a new hub? . thats why my clutch fan is in the shed.
