I`m want to custom my dashboard and i`m going to have a 5 speed A14! My stock speedometer is going to be useless! I remove the complete dashboard and reached the speedometer and rotation counter and i remove the needle, but i didn`t find a way to remove the piece of metal that holds the needle! Can anyone tell me how to do it?

Why do you want to remove the needle from the speedo? The piece of metal that the needle is attached to is a shaft & it would involve taking the whole speedo apart to get it out.

When you get this far into something like this it's usually best given to an instrument repair specialist as they have the knowledge, the tools & often, the parts to do whatever you need.
