#1 1975 b210 performance?
Screamin_semen Posted on: 2008/4/11 22:22
i'm just tryin to get an idea on the availability of performance parts there are for the B210's. i have the chance to buy one in good shape, but i dont want to start off on a dead end. the car has an A14 in it.
wondering about headers that will fit, any suspension upgrades (found sway bar on summitracing), cams, etc.

if anyone knows where to find these or knows what would work...could ya let me know

There is a never ending list of things that you can do with a 120Y. Have a look through the photo albums and see. My 210 runs a L18, Stumpy skyline 5 speed, stanza struts, extractors, cam, electronic ignition, high comp head etc etc. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination.

lol knowing the right people and having a bit of funding... anything is possible.
what are you expecting of the car?
it's easy to burn up several thousand $ just in the suspension and brakes, but it's well worth it.

He probably doesn't have a 120Y, I believe he has a US model 'B210' which is based on the same B210 chassis, but uses the PB210 Excellent front end & an A14 engine. Chances are that with one post only, he has never heard of a 120Y. Yes, they used the chassis code as a model name for this one in the US.

The 210 that you refer to that you own is the US model name for the B310 chassis, ... what we call a Sunny. Strange but true, they simply deleted the 'B' prefix & continued to use the 210 model name on B310's.

The 'Stanza' that you mention is known over there as a 510 [but not a P510], This is the A10 chassis & you forgot to mention whether the Jap or Aussie struts/brakes are prefered. [I don't know either]

Mind you, I have stuck my neck out & 'assumed' North American origins just from the description of the car as a B210 with an A14 which was original fitment, & the word "headers"Quote:

Hopefully he will update his profile with some basic location detail before the next post.

i am in Nova Scotia, Canada and the car was brought up from the states. i was more or less wondering what parts are interchangeable or will work such as cams shocks/struts/springs and headers. i've just been lookin around the internet and i havent had much luck in finding performance parts for this specific car. i'm mainly interested in stiffining the suspension with the sway bar i've found as well as some stronger/shorter springs. i would also like to find a cam and header as well. i havent found anything about what headers or springs or cams will work.

You're right Dodgeman. I probably don't own a 120Y, what is a 120Y anyway? Here I was thinking that I was a Ford escort owner!!

Rev - I think if you re-read Dodge's 1st post you will find he was referring to Screaming and not you.

Screaming - headers and alsorts are readily available for A series Datsun engines although not sure about your part of the world. They are well designed, very strong engines which can be modded to perform extremely well.

Thanks Fandatstick, you're right, I was speaking of Screamin_Semen's car.

It's easy to forget that this is an international forum & the North American membership is growing, [YAY] which means that more members are joining that are not yet aware of the differences in model names in different countries, particularly the US where the chassis code was also the model name for the B210 & the strangely bizare use of the 210 number as the model name of the B310 /Sunny
This same B310 was also known as a 120Y in some other markets.

When new members join, but do not include their basic location details in their profile, it's sometimes desirable to look for clues in the text to try & see the national origins to try & avoid confusion in the reply.

Rev, You have my appologies if you genuinely feel offended, it was not my intention.
