has anyone actually done a head swap on an A series and finished it
looked at ga16 b5 mazda and x18xe astra today
first 2 look like its possible x18 too big but x16 is rumoured to go close (but dont have one to check)
I am a cyl head machinist so i have access to heads and machining

sikyne is undertaking a motorbike head conversion to an a14, and yes it will be done. its in a 1200 coupe improved production racer but its well out of the budget for all but the keenest datlovers...

but its not done yet. basically the whole thing is custom though.

Answer: No. No one has ever finished such a project.

dd how long was one of our speedway members runing a crossflow sohc head on an aseries before he decided to tell us even now he is still very reluctant on giving out big details on it except that it is and e series head? whats to say that someone hasnt already done it and doesnt want to tell because they want to avoid being bombarded with questions for months on end?

e15 nissan would be a no brainer as it evolved from an a series
if you were going to do that you would just use the whole motor
have since found out that while head work is free a change to ohc is disallowed under the class my freind runs

if it was a no brainer it would have been done by now however I see you specialise in that field, so i reckon there would be a bit of $$$ in it for you if you were able to produce one for a reasonable price. I am not sure what power advantages you would actually get as well.....it may not be worth the exercise

just out of interest but if you are going to go to the trouble of adapting a motorcycle head to an a series why not just use the whole motorcycle engine? is it just to comply with certain racing classes?
