Stumpy gearbox makes a whining noise??

hey guys,
my gearbox makes a whining noise, i have been told its the main input bearing? but also been told its the thrust bearin? any clues? also where can i get another thrust bearing for a stumpy gearbox? thnks ben

would a ca18det trust bearing be the same?
im guessing yes coz its the same shaft

dnt worri guys.. all done, got my next door neighbour to have a look and he said just change the front 2bearings and thrust bearing.. so no hopfully it drives like a new gearbox when on the road

thrust bearing won't make any noise when in gear, only when your foot is on the clutch.
what gears does it make noise in? 4th? all? all but 4th? if there's no noise in 4th then its probably your lay shaft bearings.

They are easy enough to repair. No special bearings.
