Hi, sorry to hasle anybody but has anybody put race seats into a 120Y sedan? and does anybody know if you can modify the seating mounts? any help is much appreciated

I have and I have to say it's much easier if you have the earlier model 120y before the transmission tunnel was reshaped.

I've used a Velo GP90 on my 75 sedan and installing it was a simple as drilling holes in the brackets to take the standard seat rails. I also had to take a little metal out of the left hand bracket to allow the slide lever to work properly. It was all secured with some decent nyloc locking nuts on the original screws that hold the seat to the rails.

Atm I have my standard seat in but before I put it back in I plan on upgrading the bolts that hold the brackets to the car cos they have stripped the threads before from over tightening, that could be one of my least liked things about my car

Yeah fitted Nos branded seats in a 120y sedan that we race. Guessing autotecnica etc seats would be the same mounting.

The rails bolted to the seat fine, the only problem we had was that the rails were further apart or closer (can't remember) on the new seats. We just welded some more material on beside the original holes and bolted it in. This was with a commodore tunnel section also, so the tunnel really shouldn't make much difference. Don't forget this is a race car and not a registered street car.
