Just a quick one.

just woundering will a a12 120y motor and manual box bolt straight in to my 1200 sedan,need to get it driving .

if the dizzys are in the same spot and check the mounts. Think theres different versions of the A12 possibly with engine mounts in different spots. At the worst you could swap things off the old to the 120y one. There often interchangeable just minor things and if you have both cars with motors then ya laughing. Dont quote me as im a little rusty, just gettin back in the datto game been out for a few years. A lot of these newer mods are baffling but old to old is pretty straight forward. Good Luck

should bolt straight in , only a15 has different mounting positions

depends on the a12 if its earlie or late, eng mounts on cross member are different between the 2, the box should bolt just may to change/custom eng mounts
thats wat i had to do cos my 72 coupe had 120y box just changed mounts

Short answer is no it wont. you will need a late model ute X-member for a true bolt in swap.
A-series engines with the dizzy in the middle will interchange with each other. Edit. Freaky, from memory your new sedan had an A-15 in it, right [which you recently sold] From memory the previous owner fitted the late model ute X-member therfore mounting an A12 from a 120Y will bolt stright in...
