Hey I was reading a period article about the 1200 wagon and it says that stock they do 92 mph flat. Has anyone ever tried this and is it possible coz i didnt think it would be anywhere near that quick?

I got around 145-150 kph in a stock coupe, so that would be about right.

my 85 1200 ute when stock did 150kph at night and 140kph in the day time
both top speeds where done on a constant day to day drive and took a long time to get up to that speed my ute also did a 19.5 quarter mile time i know its not a wagon but i guess would be the same unless the diff ratio was different

a fair bit of speedo error u have to account for too, stock 1000 sedan could climb to 100 mph or 160 kmh, but might have been closer to 150 in reality.

With 12 inch wheels, the speedometers are miles out once you get past about 70mph. I've had 1200 coupes up to 6000 in forth gear, on 12 inch wheels.

My brother and I took my grannys auto 120Y for a fang down the old calder highway through brimbank park and had it flat knackers downhill with the wind behind us at 130kph! We even put a 12A twin dizzy rotary in it!... In the boot that is.
