woody's new road 1200 coupe ideas

hi guys i have recently snavelled myself up a very tidy little 1200 coupe from all the way up in townsville far north queensland. after a long trip to go and get it (we were going up there anyway) ive been driving it round home for a bit now and want to register it.
ive got to do some minor suspension things to get it registered but instead of just replacing the stock stuff i am thinking of upgrading everything, its got an a12 with a small weber, extractors and a 2" exhaust other than that the engine is stock. some of the interior has been retrimmed, and the paintwork is shagged but im not respraying it. ive been thinking of replacing the suspension to the same spec's as my race coupe, so heres the list. 120y front swaybar (aquired) stanza lower control arms (have no idea what model to get them off ie late or early) 200b struts, or possibly r31 skyline struts with brakes. nolathane bushes all round set of lucas red stuff race pads 240k vented drums e15 electronic dissy lowered front and rear springs and just a general tidy up its going to be a short road but the question is do i register it now then muck round or do i keep it off the road (much to my disgust) and keep on driving my vl or vr bombodore around? ive only got to replace the rear shackle bush rubbers and the front struts for rego. let me know what you think

There was one that went from Melbourne to QLD and sold again a few months back on ebay it had a black bonnet fitted and 260z rims. Not as clean as this one.

the interior is just as good as that side, its even complete with all the spare tyre and jack and even all of the floor covering over the spare tyre, id never seen that before.
limited supply you say, im the only person in bathurst that i know of with a 1200 coupe, no sedans either but plenty of utes, but i had to do it, my uncle found it and the price was right so its sitting in my drivway while i make room in the shed. the one thing that i will also have to do is to pull the dent out of the otherside front guard, the tyre touched the guard and its dented it, other than that the paintwork is shagged and i dont know if i want to paint it. i should mention that im a mechanic an know people so registering even in its current form will be a piece of cake!

Looks good Kurt. I reckon it should get a new coat of paint if it's shagged as you said. The good thing about 1200's is they are a piece of piss to strip down and put back together, and you'll enjoy it that much more if it looks schmick. How's the racecar going?

good aiden, well now at least. in january this year i split the gearbox extension housing in 3 at the start/finish line of wakefield park at full tilt, that was fun.
so after about 6 months i put a 63 series 5 speed behind her now and all is sweet. next thing on the cards is a set of tyres for the australian hillclimb champs next month then its off to the engine shop for a rebuild. then getting a 4.9 ratio lsd made instead of the 4.11. i was planning on being at oran park for the supersprint tommorow but i have to work and didnt get an entry in. hows your sedan going? and are you coming up for the hillclimb?
