B210 ignition woes
Keith

I just picked up a 2 door sedan and it didn't come with keys.
I can't find any of my spare ignitions so I was thinking of putting a hidden switch and momentary start. There are two wires coming out of the current ignition, how do I wire this baby up? I am thinking that 1 wire is acc and 1 is ignition. Do I connect 1 to the frame for acc and both on a momentary to the frame for ignition?? Keith

No need to mess around with wires. I think you can just remove the two screws that fasten the ignition switch to the lock bit, and then just turn the switch with a flathead screwdriver or random key.

I was kinda hoping to keep it neat looking, so there was no obvious indication that the car was tampered with (albeit by me).

Hey Keith, wiring is easy, pull the connector off the back of the ignition switch. Connect white (+) to black/white (coil) -- that IGN. Touch yellow (starter) and to white. It starts.
You will need to remove the ignition switch and if possible take the innards out so that the steering column is not locked.

The column isn't locking right now, also I cant even get a key into the ignition. I wonder if someone jammed a screwdriver in there...?
David, there only seems to be 2 wires on the ignition connector, am I not seeing one (white, black/white, yellow)

Yes, I have never bothered to figure out what those extra two wires are for, maybe the seat-belt buzzer.

The one "safety" screw holding the ignition on was actually a normal Philips screw.
I got her to turn over and actually ran for over a half minute. The plates in the trunk are tagged '95 so it has probably been a while since it has seen burn, and the fuel in the bowl was all the fuel that survived. Its funny to watch the circuits kick in. Turn something on and it doesn't work. Curse. Try again and it works... sort of. Curse. Try again and it works fine. Still haven't got the headlights or dash to shine yet. Try some more tomorrow.
