Nissan Or Datsun ?

Hi Guys,
I have seen some B210's Engine Cover Says "Nissan" On top of it and some Says "Datsun" any one has an idea why is that ? Thanks Regards Sumith

Hi Sumith, Datsuns were made by Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. so you will see both names on a Datsun in various places.
Around 1980 they decided to phase out the Datsun brand name and only use Nissan. By 1984 the change was complete and Datsun name was no longer used anywhere. The valve covers may have been changed in late 1970s. Or perhaps the engine in your vehicle is not the original (perhaps it is a newer engine). Does the stamped engine number match the number on the car's ID plate?

the id plate is placed on the fire wall. and u will have ur engine number and chasis number stambed on it. for each car the id plate is unique. u can buy a clear one but they r very rare.
