#1 release bearing barrier
grant76 Posted on: 2009/1/28 7:55
hey guys, changing my 1982 ute from 1200 to 1500 with 5 speed. Cant find my haynes manual, but i have read on here somewhere about different carriers for the clutch release bearing between 4 and 5 speeds. Can anybody tell me asap wether the newer a12 and a15 uses the same length carrier or whether i have to try to find a longer one to suit the a15 Engine was brought seperate from engine and didn't have one. Also cant find the answer using the search) Cheers

4-speed and 5-speed use the same release bearing carrier.

This is part of the clutch and is a matched set with the engine, flywheel , clutch cover. Not the transmission per se.

<-- wiki clicky, search for release bearing
