#1 CA18DET Throttle cable in 1200 coupe
Mildman Posted on: 2009/3/1 0:07
Interested in what people have done with their throttle cables - I've got a throttle cable in my box of parts that looks a lot like the on in this photo.
http://datsun1200.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=18984

It fits fine on the CA side (so I think it's an S13 cable), it doesn't get through the hole in the firewall, (which is cool as I have a drill) - but it doesn't look like it fits to well on the std 1200 accel pedal.

Just interested in what others of done, as this cable I have looks like it could be a winner...

Man it sucks I'm the only one in my family into cars, or any sort of fabrication work.

I don't even have a spare 1200 throttle cable to try it out with! - but I'll keep it mind if I get desperate - might even have to talk to you and your Dad about an arrangement....

This cable I've got looks OK as well - it's just getting the in cabin side sorted.

Look forward to hearing others experiences.

Cool - I'll see how I go with this cable first - but I appreiciate the offer.

I just went through all pigdog's photos too and found nothing, then saw your post Nick...lol.

I'm even slower at building it now...I've got a baby in the house and a job with lots of travel - but it is pretty close to completion (I know I keep saying that).

that looks like what ive done on the fatsun but mine is a 310 cable. i put a 310 pedal onto the 1200 arm that bolts to the firewall with a spacer cos the 310 pedal was smaller at the pivot point. then i removed the threaded bit the old cable screwed onto on the firewall, drilled 2 holes and was done, new style acc pedal! this saved me from cutting a hole for the std 1200 pedal when i fitted the new carpet from a vt commodore.(i didnt think it would fit as good as it does but cut the carpet in 1/4s and trim edges to fit and it pretty much drops straight in!) anyway now i'll probly have to change my pedal assy again when the L20s in.

So how hard is it to change the end of a cable?

and does someone have a pic of a 1200 throttle cable end handy?

I'm happy to swap a throttle cable for a clutch cable. [a 1200 one that is]
