I would like to know if its possible to change a leaf spring susp from my 120y into an indepandant one or a suspension which is more stable? waiting for some great advice

Yes, it is possible, but not very easy. Only a few people have attempted to convert a B210 to IRS (Independent Rear Suspension).

Theoretically, IRS is a better design. But in practice it is not always better. A solid rear axle car can usually be made to corner just as fast as IRS.

For comfort, it is easier to make a smooth soft ride with IRS.

thnx ddgonzal...another question- is it possible to install a torsion bar on the rear axle? if so what r the results? and how do i proceed?...pictures would be very helpful(if any)

I have never heard of anyone replacing the leaf springs with a torsion bar spring. Some have converted the rear suspension to coil springs.

You could do a set up like the once on American Muscle Cars that getthe resto mod treatment: A rear sub frame bolts and or welds in, the set up has the classic upper and lower A Arms like a Formula Car front end........these set ups can be purchased whole so the make economic sense but on our Datsuns you'd have to build it. If you can weld and fab it might be worth doing. Also there are proven pieces for the 1200 leaf spring rear that make for a huge improvement, check out all the suspension stuff on the site.

some yeras ago I saw a 1200 coupe that had the rear
sub frame and IRS out of a 1600 (p510) fitted in it.
it looked like the width was ok.

I think Scott from Maddat in Adelaide is in the process of modifying a silvia IRS to fit his 1200 ute.
Not sure how he is getting on.

I finish my IRS set up for the Datnats, and it performed very well on the track and street.
For street driving it was much smoother and nicer to drive with, and on the track it was great. I now can have some toe in on the rear andalso some neg. camber, my ride hight is easily adjusted and so are the shocks.
A lot of work to install but i think that it was well worth it.
