Finally, my rebuild underway, panel beating first...
Ethan
Posted on: 2009/7/20 13:33
Well, I finally had the guts, money & opportunity to start my rebuild. Although my cash wont allow for all i would like to be done, its better than the 'before' pics....
Some 'current' (work in progress) pics coming up just now.

good progress there, make sure u use rust converter and fish oil or similar on the back of the panelsover a wider area than the plates u have put in,
otherwise when the rust is that bad it will just come back further around the pieces u put in.

Cool, i will try to get some type of product to put behind the panels to stop or at least slow down the return of rust.
I'm planning to start saving now for a proper rebuild in a few years time... thats when im going to strip it down to the chasis & replace whole panels if they will still be available.... Should be taking the engine out today or tommorow so i can start on that. Also getting the panel beater to spay the underneath with 'stonechip' - a rubberiser type thing to stop rust underneath.

Hey Ethan looking good how far from sa border are you because a rust converter is the way to go in sa we have a product called NS4 That will do the job. As for body panels you can get new aftermarket doors fenders bonnet and so on.
