would these 2 grilles be interchangeable in a relatively simple way?

They should be, the grills have the provision for the light mounting rather than the body having it. Mine is like the bottom one without the cutouts. What sort of grill have you got at the moment?

the bottom is my car. my grille is has a crack in it and i found a reasonable deal on the grille in the first pic
