EFI or CARBY

hey all the time has come to start building my A14 up. the big question is whether to go carby or EFI install. Was talking to a mechanic this afternoon who will assist with the build and suggested substiting a single point setup as a cheap way out. I have read a bit about it in the search and wiki and still leaves heaps of questions. what would be better off carbys or single point injection?? has any one adapted the single point injection of an early pulsar? i did read that an EA falcon is also an option. opinions are greatly appreciated.
cheers josh

to me the cost of EFI is in the fuel system and computer.... if you go single point your 90% of the way/cost to proper injection

i recently did the a cfi setup using an ea falcon throttle body which was on a a14 with a blow through turbo setup, i had to make a custom adaptor to make it fit the standard manifold and ran it off an old microtech screw adjustment computer all up it cost me <$200 all up but since this i have gone back to just a 32/36 webber as i believe the webber is alot more drivable the cfi system made great power up high but was forever needing adjustment and it didnt seem to like stop start driving as much. im sure it would be an ok system if you could get someone to spend alot of time and do a good dyno tune on it using a good computer so i believe its best to either just get a webber or bite the bullet and go all out on a mulitpoint system to make it worth while

ok yeh i wish i could go the multi point setup but cant see me affording it in the near future (apprentice wages).. not too sure what would perform better each to their own i suppose. and then there is the question of reliability. although if i could trial the single point setup and see what i can achieve i can always go back to carbys.

If it was a choice between multipoint efi and carbs, efi efi efi, hands down. If it's single point efi, why bother, it'll be subject to the same issue of mixture distribution and potential fuel dropout around corners that a carbed setup will.
It won't cost much more to run a batch efi with multipoint - something like megasquirt... I am a carby fan to say the least, but make no mistake efi is the go, it's easier to optimise, and stays optimised.

Has anyone ever ran individual throttle bodies on a or l series engines and how did they turn out?
