My bluetooth disconnects everytime I am near a microwave. Mine or a friends, new or old; it doesn't matter. I was recently told it means the microwaves are not sealed properly and are leaking. Is that hokum?

its interference from the microwave.
a microwave produces a 2.4GHz radio wave similar to the frequencies of many household devices like cordless phones and you guessed it, bluetooth. you might notice it with certain things when someone turns on the microwave. heres a good example of radio interference, we had a jackaroo at work one time , whenever the bonnet was up, the car running, and you keyed up the uhf, it would turn the car off.

its the frequency of tyhe blue tooth and interferance with other devices. a lot of new cars have this problem when near mobile towers, high voltage areas in factories/shopping centers etc.
i phones are notorious for this crapola

yes most wireless and bluetooth stuff use the 2.4Ghz hence the reason the interfere with each other just need to get stuff that isnt 2.4 is all
