hi im trying to remove the battery shelf if thats what is called in my car as i am relocating the battery to make room any ideas?? thanks

Hey Dude,

The intercooler piping runs behind the battery so you don't really have to move it for that reason.

But if you want to remove it, normal practice is to 'drill out' the spot welds that hold the tray in place, you then weld up the drilled holes where the spot welds were and sand down the welds to get it all looking flush and smooth.

Tell you what, you might want to get to pulling apart a stock dizzie and locking/removing the centrifugal weights. You don't want any detonation....

yeah was gonna go the grinder and goggles idea but only have a 9inch lol im gonna leave it in there if i dont have to move it for the intercooler piping..

I'll see if I can pull a dizzie apart here and get some pictures. I had one in the kit but it got fried the other day, that's why it wasn't included in the auction.

It is hard to get out in one piece by drilling out the spot weldeds. There are at least 15 spots to be drilled out. The platform foot on one corner is very hard to get a drill into it.
Drill out as many as you can, and let the angle grinder do the talking after that.

buy your self a spotweld drill bit,
drill out the 15 or so spots, you can make them visable by rubbing the perimeter of the tray with emory (sand paper) showing little rings, then drill gently, not going through both pannels... slide a screw driver between spots and drill away mate then just linish off the wheel arch.

yeah i might look for one of those drill bits as i tryed with a 12mm drill bit i can see the concrete now haha
