hey guys,
after a while now im slowy getting back into the datsun game! looking at getting another 1200 ute, and will possibly go the ca18det route latter down the track. Now my question is reguarding s13 and r31 suspension. Now i know of a few cheap s13's and r31's thru a few mates, and the smart thing to me would be to buy a running manual s13 ca18 and transfew that in. but i want to know, can i use say the struts, lca's etc. and are ther a bolt in? i want to go coilover. later down the track, but want to keep everything as oem as possible to pass engineers. any one know if s13 rear disc's and caliper bolt onto 31 diff? also, diff gears. if i were to use the r31 diff, 28 spline from memory, can i interchange the diff ratio's and lsd? i think vl commodores shared the same diff if im not mistaken? thanks guys. Im doing plenty of research, but not finding a whole lot. Cheers, Ben!

have you read the s13 strut tech wiki article or my thread on s13 struts, firery style? I'm not a rear end guru so unfortunately I can't answer the diff questions

vn commo calipers can be used on the R31 diff with standard rotors ,and are good for a hydro hand brake setup
and coil overs arent engineerable so i would put them in later ,as for struts i would go for a 180B ,200B ,stanza setup as they are heaps easyer to bolt in and will be easyer for rego ,oh and maddat do them with coil overs and 4 spot calipers !! You can view topic.
