what sort of engine mods do you want to achieve? motor wise you can pretty much do anything you want mate. as long as you have the money to spend you can do alot of things. bodywise panels are pretty cheap if it is too rusty to be saved. this is the best place to ask ey where abouts are you situated?

Its not too hard to learn how to weld, I taught myself with a $300 Ozito gasless Mig welder.

buy yourself some checkerplate steel and cut it to fit.. it looks awesome. just put it over the top after you have rust gaurded the original floor

haha that is so dodgy joel !! ,if i was you i would just buy a cheap welder and do as much panel work as possible ,and for the floor i would just buy a big piece of 2mm plate and then cut the floor out and drop the new piece in ,but i would make it thicker than standard cos it wont get little dents in it like the standard floor and will probly stiffen the back of the ute up and i might handle a little better ,then you can still put the checkerplate for look

welcome to Datsun1200.com !!
