cannot get 120y to idle

I for the love of anything just cannot get my 120y to idle, it starts with choke pulled out and then when it warms up it just doesnt want to idle(just stalls), im not sure if the temperature meter is doing its job because it's not going up but i have castrol radicool in there.
Could it be sucking water in through one of the chanbers at idle? Or is this a carb related problem. (the anti dieseling is connected and makes a click in the on position)

i would pull out your plugs and get an idea whats going on first rich/lean.then check your settings and condition points plug gap timing ect.check the simple things

Try the anti dieseling solenoid valve. I had the same problem and tried everything, it was the wire that goes from the coil to the valve that was a little bit loose.

owners manual says it should only take 70 seconds for the engine to be 100% warm? correct?
maybe its my idle adjustment? can the carb idle any lower than 600rpm?

Sounds like it is sucking air at the base of the carb/intake manifold or your throttle butterfly shaft is shafted. These are all common if you are using an old carby. My first port of call is to chech all the securing nuts on the base of the carb and so on.
They can be troublesome at times!!

mine takes over 5 mins to get fairly warm, probably take 70secs till its kinda drivable.and 600 is pretty low, it should idle just but.you probably need to change plugs if they are now fould and reset your mixture.hard to say on these things

i have put a kit through the carburettor and cleaned it, the fuel in the sight glass is smack bang on the dot.
so far i have changed almost everything, coil, rotor, cap, plugs, leads. valve adjustment is .030 on cold. the securing nuts are pretty tight. it kind of sounds like it wants to idle but there is a sound that it makes kind of like a flopping sound and then stalling sometimes. have pulled the plugs out but none of them seem to have been fouling i have 10w-40 oil in there could this be too thin? my engine also includes: - bosch gt40r coil - new cylinder head with lapped valves - new pcv valve - new gaskets covered in permatex so it doesnt leak vacuum i'm totally stoked on this one. power curve is pretty much perfect with a good advance it's just missing on idle and i cant figure it out. I havnt checked the timing because i have no timing light Maybe it's bad gas? It's been sitting unstarted for 3 months with the same gas although i've had a look at it and its still a nice clear purple color. because i'm painting it, i just want to get the engine running perfect..

I can't offer much just reading through this quickly but try process of elimination rather than trying to fix everything (ignition, carby, fuel etc) in one go. The last thing you need now is more variables, and more costs. Are you sure firing order and timing is right?
Try; clean fuel. Try; another carburetor. Try; another distributor.

no i don't know if timing is correct but it wouldnt be that far out but with the head of tdc is right on 0 and rotor points very close to #1 distributor position
firing order that i am sure of. 1-3-4-2 counter clockwise with 1 on the notch im starting to think that my carburettor is shot. or its a vacuum problem. which could be one of two variables because it only happens at idle. The carburettor has a broken throttle butterfly or extremely clogged slow/idle jets which just cant seem to get unstuck or a very large vacuum leak? although i cant seem to find this vacuum leak. manifold vacuum is plugged with a brass plug, the only vacuum i have is pcv which i doubt is leaking because ive checked it 100 times. carb has new gaskets so no leak there either. distributor is plugged up so no leak there either. Could vacuum leak from the sump?? You can view topic.
