#1 AE86 Inserts in B110 struts
bezman Posted on: 2010/7/21 7:27
AE86 inserts fit b110 struts or 280zx struts?

I ask cause i am getting some mixed info

AE86 toyota inserts are ~43mm and b110 datsun inserts are ~45mm according to the wiki so they should work right??

stock datsun b110
418 body length / 631 Extended / 462 Collapsed
Stroke: 169mm (6.7 in)

AE86
Body length: 402mm
Extended length: 604mm
Extended minus Body: 202mm
Outside Diameter: 43.5mm

so these should swap, be shorter and have more travel right??

thanks

I haven't read the wiki but I think the datsun legs are 45mm OD. Therefore a 43mm insert will not fit inside them. 280ZX struts are 50.8mm OD so the 43mm inserts should fit in them but you'd want to measure the ID of the ZX leg first to make sure
