distributor cam play

I was just checking my distributor and noticed that the cam / shaft has a bit of rotational play. It doesn't seem to have side-to-side play.
Is this OK?

it is ok, the distributor got some advance mechanism, allowing it to advance by using centrifugal force and vacuum.

Agreed, it is OK. Side-to-side play is bad. Rotational play is normal.
