What are yards like where you live?

Here in WA we have a nice chain of yards called Pull-A-Part (http://pullapartwa.com). It is $1 to enter, and parts are fixed price bargains, like $15 for alternator, $2 for relay, $65 for transmission, etc. They specialize in older cars. And is it self-serv, bring tools -- they won't do it for you.

Here are some photos, try to keep it Datsun B-car related
more photos lots of datsuns here

Here in the ACT (Canberra) it sucks big time.

I found an A14 that ezyscrap in mitchell didn't know they had up the back of their shed but apart from that one find out of an N10 pulsar there are no B series parts / cars at wreckers.

Or at least no parts they want to sell to me anyway cos I've asked them all!

I even struggled, no wait, I actually failed completely to source either L20B engine mounts or dizzy recently.

One mob said sure we'll go check the Bluebird and call you back. No call back on both times I rang and these guys dont let u in their yard so u cant do it urself.

Standard response is "too old for me mate".

Yep, unless they specialise in older stuff it's "nah, we don't carry anything older than '90 mate.." here as well..

Yep, here in Perth aswell.
That 1200 2dr sedan looks great, I would be in heaven pulling parts off that!!!

its rather depressing isnt it!.. we are the same here. A fair few yards but not much old stuff. There is a wrecking yard in Cooma (Snowy Mountains in NSW) that has cars pretty much as far as the eye can see! Im gunnu pay a visit there oneday
