Hi guys
Im looking for a set of gx pistons for a12 in south africa, nobody has them anymore. I found a good match set from a nissan sentra 1400, 1992 model, but isnt really what i want. i want my comp. ratio up to at least 10.5 Somebody told me they used mazda 1300 pistons, the bore and gudgeon will work well, but from pin to deck height the piston is shy about 1.21mm What have you guys used???

I used a mill to deck the block. Then you need to make allowance for the fact that the rocker geometry is now not quite right.

A14 piston are much larger in diameter
Just get Datsun 1000 Coupe pistons, they are the same as A12GX High Gas pistons.

A14 pistons are not only 3mm larger in diameter, but also have a larger wrist pin & have a bowl in the crown anyway.
All A10 pistons [for the Datsun 1000 model] are the same & yes, they are flat tops. The Coupe version of the A10 engine gains its higher compression from the different cylinder head that these engines have. From what I can make of it the Coupe head is simply machined more on the head gasket face during manufacture as everything else about it is the same as the standard model head. You can view topic.
