YES

Container with fuel line and 2 vac lines - charcoal canister and it deals with the fuel vapors from the tank. Needed to meet adr compliance

Container with 3 vac lines that go to throttle body area. This stores vacume to operate the secondary butterfly's in the intake plenum. There is also two wires on this canister that plug into the loom and feed back to ecu.

technically no you dont need them for the engine to function, my one ran quite nicely without them

but if its going to be engineered then you need to keep all of the s13 emissions stuff with the engine

so you dont needed to run them what about the ones for the butterflys on the intake pleum. if so do you just block of the hose. how hard is it to remove the butterflys.

move the engine to a better spot, i have a 120y sway bar in mine and it has plenty of clearance

not overly hard to remove the butterflys, need to weld up the holes that the rod they are on go through though
if you have then in and all working it makes a little bit of difference to low end power. but i cant say my CA was lacking low end power without them, i was wanting it to be more lagy and have less low down so that i could actually drive around normally a bit easier

i used to run my CA's without the butterflies UNTIL i got them hooked up correctly, and then they makea HUGE difference in throttle response (especially when in a high gear and suddenly go full throttle, it helps bring the revs/boost up allot faster)

it is very tricky to get hooked up correctly
