That 1000 roadster does look great. The short boot and top-hat profile are the only things that bother me about the 1000 design and your concept design above puts things into balance.

I would think a scaled passenger sitting in that seat would put things out of proportion but a nice deep bucket seat (very low to the floor) would keep them nice and low and within proportion to the vehicle.

I also think that design would almost certainly have the mirrors where the original doors meet the front guard. Guard mirrors up the front may look okay, can you put up a pic with mirrors on the door fronts near the windscreen and another pic with the mirrors at the very front of the guards?

a few things, I dont mind if you did it as youre prob better at Gimp
or Photoshop than me. Id be glad to see your version of it.
I was thinking of using a curved convex glassed landscape mirror just
sitting on the top of the windscreen in line with the top edge.

I recently had my re-skinned toyota corona seats put in by Simon and Im
sitting about 6 inches lower to the floor than the tall originals.
Im only 5 foot 7 but even the thick cushioning of the corona seats still
leaves my chin at door level in my van. I really have to lift myself
out of the car as if Im in a Lotus elan or low flung race car. :)
